How was the photoreading whole mind system course developed?
Paul R.Scheele of Learning Strategies Corporation, developed the PhotoReading whole mind system course in 1985, based on the latest neural and cognitive scientific research, into how the brain learns, processes and remembers new information effectively and efficiently.
The research also indicated that certain types of music and relaxation exercises promote mental states in which the brain becomes more receptive to learning. This relationship can be used as a contributory factor to the process of remembering, learning, and thinking. As a result music and relaxation have been built into the structure of the course.
The PhotoReading course is designed to train and support you as you practise, experience and master this new technique and apply it to your individual needs. Every skill you learn on the course is transferable to your private and professional life.

The photoreading course syllabus:
The 5 Step System:
Step 1 - PREPARE:
Reading effectively begins with creating a clear sense of purpose. This means consciously stating a desired outcome for your reading.
Step 2 - PREVIEW:
The aim is to survey the written material to get a sense of its structure.
Step 3 - PHOTOREAD:
Here you are mentally photographing the entire written page of information, by using your eyes in a new way. Instead of bringing individual words into sharp focus, you soften your eyes so that your peripheral vision is expanded and the whole printed page comes into view exposing it to the sub-conscious mind.
Step 4 - ACTIVATION:
This is where you are able to consciously retrieve the relevant detail from the information. At this stage you gain access to your comprehension of the written material.
Step 5 - RAPID READING:
Moves you rapidly through from the start to finish of written material, whilst varying your speed.
